Over the 14 days, you will still visit the most popular destinations from the North to the South of Vietnam. However you will visit them on unique “paths”. You will be introduced to Hanoi, Halong, Hoi An and Mekong Delta with a different perspective

Day 1: Hanoi arrival (D)
On arrival in Hanoi you will be met at the airport by our guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is spent relaxing after your long flight. Our guide will be on hand to brief you about the tour ahead and some of you may choose to take a short walking tour to stretch your legs and explore the surrounding area.

Day 2: Handicraft villages (B, L)
After an early breakfast, you take a out of Hanoi to visit Smoked Bamboo village in Xuan Lai – Bac Ninh. Return to Hanoi for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will visit Van Phuc Silk Village – 8km southwest of Hanoi’s center. This village is well known for its traditional sericulture, weaving, and silk products. You will be lured by various beautiful shirts, crafts, ties, dresses and many other things made of silk available in the village. The silk is weaved on very simple looms, which is the genuine traditional Vietnamese way of making silk. Return to your hotel to relax. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 3: Hanoi – Ha Long (B, L, D)
AM: Be picked up at your hotel from 8:00am.for a 3.5 hour bus ride through the country side of the Red River Delta to Ha Long City. Upon arrival, board the Halong Phoenix Cruiser. A fresh seafood lunch (vegetable menu available) will be served while the boat is setting sail.
PM: Prepare for a fun kayaking experience in this area while absorbing the stunning vista of the serene bay. Experience a short tender ride from the middle of the bay to Ti Top island where you can relax on the beach or walk up to the top of the island for the panoramic view of the anchorage area. Return to the Halong Phoenix Cruiser, as the sun sets over the bay and relax on the sundeck with your favorite drink. Dinner is served with delicious local seafood.
Overnight is on board.

Day 4: Halong – Hanoi (B, L)
AM: Rise early and witness a breathtaking sunrise from the sundeck. Enjoy your buffet breakfast before visiting one of the most beautiful cave in Halong – Amazing Cave. Return to the boat and learn about the recipe and techniques that go into creating the most popular dish of the Vietnamese. Lunch will be served while cruising back to the harbor.
PM: Your bus is waiting at the harbor port to take you back to Hanoi for overnight.

Day 5: Hanoi - Duong Lam village (B, L)
AM: You will depart your hotel at 08:30am.and travel west of Hanoi to Duong Lam village, a purely agricultural village of the Northern Red River Delta which still preserves many hundred year old houses. Duong Lam village is known as a Museum of Laterite with Ancient Houses up to 400 years old. It is also well known as the birthplace of the two kings Phung Hung and Ngo Quyen, the two heroes who led resistance wars against China's Sung and Southern Han troops to recover national independence. Visit Mong Phu temple in Mong Phu commune - the only hamlet whose original village entrance remains intact. Continue on through the narrow alleys to see the old laterite houses which make up this charming village. Enjoy a picnic lunch en-route.

PM: After your lunch, continue driving to Mia Pagoda (another hamlet of Duong Lam), built in the 15th century. Here you will see some 287 statues of all sizes, amongst them are famous sculptures such as the statue of Buddha and the statues of the "Eight Vajra Deities."
On the way back to Hanoi there is a stop at Tay Phuong Pagoda. This pagoda offers beautiful architecture and ancient and unique sculptures. It was one of the first pagodas built in Vietnam and has magnificent dragons and demons carved into the wooden roof. From here continue back to Hanoi, a 45-minute drive.

Day 6: Hanoi – Hue (B, D)
AM: It is your free time in Hanoi before transferring to the airport for a noon flight to Hue.

PM: On your arrival in Hue, you will be met by your guide and transferred to check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will visit the city and cruise along the Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda. From there, the tour continues to the Imperial Citadel and the Forbidden City. Enjoy your dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 7: Hue – Danang – Hoi An (B)
AM: This morning, in Hue you are free for shopping and taking photographs.

PM: After lunch, you will be driven to Hoi An via Hai Van Pass. On the way, you will visit the Cham Museum, Marble Mountain and the stone carving of Non Nuoc in Danang. The drive will then continue to Hoi An.

Day 8: Hoi An - Tra Que Vegetable Village (B, L)
AM: Today you will cycle from your hotel to a local farm in Tra Que village.
A short stroll will take you around the vegetable garden. You can join the farmers as they prepare the land by raking the ground, sowing, watering, picking vegetables and fertilizing it with seaweed from the local lake. After all these activities, you will take a short rest and enjoy a foot bath before having the opportunity to prepare lunch with a local family. Your lunch will consist of many local delicacies including ‘tam huu’ spring roll, Banh xeo or the local pancake of the people in Vietnam’s central region. After your morning’s experiences and your lunch, you will take a Vietnamese traditional nap before learning how to harvest and wrap the vegetables.

PM: Around 14:00 bid farewell to your host family before riding back to Hoi An. Visit the town on your own. Walk over the tile-roofed Japanese Bridge, visit the ancient town’s Chinese Assembly Halls and Trading Houses, pagodas and stroll into the market located by Thu Bon river. Hoi An is a wonderful town to shop for silk and clothes that can be tailored and made within a day.

Day 10: Hoi An- Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh City (HCM) (B)
AM: After a relaxing morning, you will be transferred to Da Nang airport to take an internal flight to Ho Chi Minh. Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, you will be picked up by your driver and transferred to your hotel.

PM: In the afternoon, you will visit the Reunification Palace which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until the end of April 1975. We then have a “photo stops” at some striking French colonial structures including the Notre Dame

Cathedral and the Old Sai Gon Post Office before continuing to the War Museum and then Ben Thanh market for shopping.

Day 11: Cu Chi Tunnels (B, L)
AM: You will spend today learning more of the history and culture of Vietnam. Your tour starts with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground network of around 200km of tunnels constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence. The tunnels contained hospitals, accommodation and schools, and were used as a military base for the Vietcong during the “American War”.

PM: Free time for you in Ho Chi Minh city.

Day 12: HCM - My Tho- Vinh Long – Overnight at a Lodge (B, L, D)
AM: Today you will leave Ho Chi Minh City and travel about 70km to My Tho in Tien Giang Province. Along the way visit Tan Hiep basket weaving producers.Then onto My Tho for lunch.
PM: You will then drive to Vinh Long to visit cottage industry villages. See how pop-rice, coconut candy and rice-paper is made as well as other local activities. Tonight will be spent overnight at a local family’s house on the island. You may like to join the family in cooking and preparing the food for dinner.

Day 13: Vinh Long - Cai Be- HCMC (B, L)
AM: In the morning, a boat cruise along the Mekong Delta will take you to a bonsai garden, and local houses making confectionery, soya sauce, fish sauce and other products. Your boat will also meander through the Cai Be floating market.

PM: Return to Ho Chi Minh City with a lunch stop at a local restaurant and have the rest of the evening at your leisure.

Day 14: HCMC (B)
This morning is free to enjoy your last day of the tour in Vietnam before you depart for the airport for your flight .
