Day 1: Embarkation - My Tho - Cai Be
Register between 11:00 to 12:00 at the Sofitel Saigon Plaza Hotel.
You will be transferred overland by motor coach to My Tho port for embarkation aboard the Indochina Sails’ ship for the journey from the Mekong Delta to Holy Angkor.

Embark the ship at 13:30.
Welcome drinks are served in the Saigon Lounge. A short briefing is conducted before adjourning for lunch at theMekong restaurant. After lunch check in to your cabin. After port clearance formalities, the Captain raises the anchor and your cruise begins sailing towards Cai Be.

Join the Cruise Director at Saigon Lounge for the safety demonstration and briefing at 18:00, followed by Captain’s Cocktails. Enjoy the first gourmet dinner onboard with fellow travelers. Enjoy folk performances of the Mekong Delta from 21:00 to 21:45 in the Saigon Lounge. The ship moors overnight midstream at Cai Be.

Day 2: Cai Be – Vinh Long
After breakfast you take a morning junk trip around Cai Be to see a floating market, and go ashore to visit the French Gothic Cathedral and colorful port area, with its colonial buildings, delightful flower gardens and local rice paper manufacturers.

Return to the boat at 12:00.and enjoy lunch while your vessel sails toward Vinh Long – Vietnam’s second biggest city by the Mekong river.Visit the bustling afternoon market taking a visually stunning boat ride and walk through the market, where all manner of aquatic life, edible food and wondrous things are sold.

Cocktails and briefing are from 18:30 followed by a dinner in a Mekong restaurant.
After dinner the ship raises the anchor and cruises to Sadec. Tonight the ship moors midstream on the Mekong River near Sadec.

Day 3: Sadec - Tan Chau
After your breakfast follow your guide to Sadec, a quaint little city and the hometown of Marguerite Duras’ lover. Visit the old house of Huynh Thuy Le, observe the bantering at the local markets along the paved river banks and visit the pagoda and the Fujian Temple, built and donated to the city by Le’s family. You will see the home of Marguerite Durason the opposite riverbank.

Spend the rest of the day cruising on board to Tan Chau. Join the lecture onboard, "Vietnam - The Past & Present"arriving in Tan Chau – the Vietnamese town near the border with Cambodia on the Mekong River.
Your cruise ship will moor safely at the riverbank of Tan Chau. After dinner join us in the “Crew Show” in the Saigon Lounge.

Day 4: Tan Chau - Border Crossing
Today will truly be a highlight with a visit of Tan Chau – a small town untouched by tourism.
Your morning excursion starts with a sightseeing tour by local boats, navigating narrow channels to visit an evergreen island. You will have a chance to visit a floating fish farm and travel along the tiny tributaries where stilt houses are haphazardly leaning against each other. Go ashore and tour around the town on a rickshaw (XeLoi). Then you will visit a rattan mat and slipper making factory.
Return to the ship and enjoy lunch while the ship departs for the border. In the afternoon a cooking demonstration by the Executive Chef will be held in the Saigon Lounge, as the border formalities take place.
Cast off for overnight cruising of the main Mekong channel, an international shipping route to Phnom Penh.

Day 5: Phnom Penh
Today is a busy day with many interesting sightseeing activities.
In the morning, you will have a bus sightseeing tour of Phnom Penh. Visit the Royal Palace, the spectacular Silver Pagoda and the National Museum with outstanding displays of the Khmer crafts. In the afternoonvisitthe Khmer Rouge’s grim ToulSleng (S21 detention center) and the Killing Fields. If you want to spend time shopping or taking a tour around the city instead, please inform the Ship’s Manager.
Cocktail hour is from 18:30 to 19:30. Dinner is served from 19:30 to 21:00. After dinner, please join the Khmer folk dances and songs at the Saigon Lounge.
Before midnight you may choose to “hang out” in the bars, many of which are located just opposite the dock.

Day 6: Phnom Penh - Chong Koh – Oudong – Kampong Tralach
Early in the morning your vessel will sail towards the little known village of Chong Koh.

After breakfast, take a walk to Chong Koh silk weaving village. Return to the ship by 10:00 and join a lecture onboard “Cambodia – The Past and Present” presented by your tour guide while the ship cruises toward the PrekK’dam.

You will arrive at Oudong which was the capital of Cambodia, built between 1618 and 1866 on the top of Phnom Oudong. This hill is made up of a series of stupas and shrines in a variety of conditions. However you do not climb the hill by a steep stairway with 509 steps as we join our tour guides to the Buddhist monastery at the foothill.

After Oudong you take a 45 minute bus ride to Kampong Tralach, visitWatKapongTralachPleu and then take a 20-minute ox-cart ride to the Tonle River traveling through the countryside and a small village on a dusty road, past rice fields and amused locals. Return to the ship and cruise to KampongTralach

Day 7: Kampong Tralach - Kampong Chhnang – PrekK’dam
Arrive at Kampong Chhnang which is a busy rural port town with bustling markets. Mooring mid-stream, you take a wonderful motorboat excursion into the lakeside wetlands that form the mouth of the river. Here a stunning variety of birdlife may be seen, and of considerable interest is the local life and floating village.
Return to the boat and cast off towards PrekK’dam – a small village that is around 35km away from Phnom Penh.
Time for packing and preparing for your Farewell Cocktail this evening. The ship docks overnight in PrekK’dam.

Day 8: Disembarkation - PrekK’dam - Siem Reap)
High water program: Sep - Dec
Enjoy breakfast onboard. Bid farewell to the crew and guides. Disembark around 8:30 and take motorized boats to the local jetty 5 to 6 km away from the middle of the lake. Transfer by motor coach to drive to Le Meridien Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap.

Lowwater program: Jun - Aug & Jan - Apr
Breakfast is served from 6:30 – 8:00 in the Mekong Restaurant. After breakfast, bid farewell to the crew and disembark at PrekK’dam at 8:30 AM. Take a 5.5 hour bus drive to Siem Reap with a stop at Kampong Thom. You arrive at Le Meridien Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap atabout 13:30.


DOWNSTREAM: SIEM REAP - SAIGON: 8DAYS/7NIGHTS
Day 1: Embarkation – Siem Reap – PrekK’dam (L, D)
High water program: Sep - Dec
Register between 11:00 - 12:00 at Le Meridien Angkor. Transfer by coach to the jetty and take a 30-minute motorboat to La Marguerite ship, passing floating fishing villages from Siem Reap through Tonle Sap Lake.

Embark the ship at 13:00. You are served a welcome drink in the Saigon Lounge. Attend a short briefing followed by a lunch served in the Mekong restaurant at 13:30. The ship’s Captain will raise the anchor and your cruise towards Kampong Chhnang begins.This great lake dominates Cambodia and is over 150 km in length. Along the way, enjoy a scenic view of the wildlife while passing picturesque floating villages.

At 18:00join the Cruise Manager at the Saigon Lounge for a safety demonstration and afterwards enjoy Captain’s Cocktails before yourfirst gourmet dinner onboard with fellow travelers.

Register between 7:00 – 7:45 at Le Meridien Angkor.
At 8:00, transfer by coach to PrekK’dam with a stop en route at Kampong Thom. The coach ride takes approximately about 5 hours and a half hours.
Embark the ship in PrekK'dam at 13:30.A short briefing and welcome drink is served in the Saigon Lounge.

Lunch onboard is at 13:45. Cabins are ready for checkin after lunch. As the Captain raises the anchor you cruise towards Kampong Chnang province. Join the safety briefing at the Saigon Lounge at 18:00 followed by the Captain's Welcome Cocktails.
Enjoy the first gourmet dinner onboard with fellow travelers at 19:00. A pianist entertains you from 21:00 to 23:00 in the Saigon Lounge. The boat will moor midstream overnight in theTonle River.

Day 2: Kampong Chhnang – Kampong Tralach – Oudong
Kampong Chhnang is a busy rural port town with bustling markets. Mooring mid-stream, we make a truly wonderful motorboat excursion into the lakeside wetlands that form the mouth of the river. Here a stunning variety of birdlife may be seen, and of considerable interest is the local life and floating village.
Return to the boat and cast off towards Kampong Tralach. Attend lecture on “Cambodia - The Past & Present” in the Saigon Lounge.

Your vessel moors at Kampong Tralach. Today’s afternoon tour starts with a 20-minute ox-cart ride from the riverbank. Traveling through the countryside onaadusty road, past rice fields, a small village and amused locals. Your ox-cart ride ends at the beautiful Vihara belonging to WatKapongTralachPleu. Visit the pagodas and after catch the bus and travelfor about 45 minutes to Oudong.
Between 1618 and 1866 Oudong was the capital of Cambodia. On the top of Phnom Oudong there is series of stupas and shrines in a variety of conditions. However you do not climb the hill as you visit Oudong Buddhist Monastery. You will attend the Buddhist blessing ceremony and visit the Buddhist meditation center.

After the visit you take a bus ride back to your ship at PrekK’dam, which is only 10 km. from Oudong. Your ship will sail towards the little known village of Chong Koh passing by Phnom Penh and docking midstream near Chong Koh.
After dinner, you can watch the movie “Killing Fields” at the Saigon Lounge.

Day 3: Chong Koh – Phnom Penh
After breakfast you will visit Chong Koh silk weaving village. Enjoy a leisurely morning walk. Return to the boat at 10:30 as the boat sets sail towards the capital Phnom Penh.

The capital of Cambodia retains its French charm. The city has several impressive Wats, including WatOunalom, Wat Phnom and the newly-painted Wat Lang Ka. Pride of place goes to the Royal Palace and to the spectacular Silver Pagoda, one of the few places in Cambodia where artifacts embodying the brilliance and richness of Khmer culture are preserved by the Khmer Rouge.

At 15:00 a walking tour to Wat Phnom gives you an orientation of Phnom Penh’s downtown.
Cocktails and a briefing houris followed by a dinner. After dinner, a special Khmer folk performance awaits at the Saigon Lounge. After the performance you can explore Phnom Penh by night by yourself.

Day 4: Phnom Penh
Today is a busy day with many interesting sightseeing and activities.
In the morning, sightsee Phnom Penh by bus. Visit the Royal Palace, the spectacular Silver Pagoda and the National Museum where outstanding Khmer crafts are exhibited. The afternoon excursion facilitates understanding a crucial part of the Cambodia’s history: the Khmer Rouge’s grim ToulSleng (S21 detention center) and the Killing Fields. (For a free and easy afternoon, please inform Cruise Director).

Cocktail hour starts from 18:00 to 19:00. Dinner is served from 19:00 to 21:00. After dinner, join the Khmer folklore dances at the Saigon Lounge.
Before midnight, opt to chill in one of the bars located across the road from the pier.
Ship docks overnight at Phnom Penh port.

Day 5: Phnom Penh - Border Crossing - Tan Chau
Enjoy a hearty breakfast as the ship departs for the border. The boat casts off for a day cruising the main Mekong channel, an international shipping route.
At your leisure in the morning and in the afternoon theExecutive Chef at Saigon Lounge will provide a cooking demonstration, while the border formalities are going on.
You will arrive in Tan Chau – the first Vietnamese town on the Mekong River. Join u the “Crew Show” in the Saigon Lounge.

Day 6: Tan Chau - Sadec
Today will be a tour highlight with a visit to Tan Chau – a small town untouched by tourism.
The interesting morning excursion starts with a sightseeing tour on a local boat, navigating narrow channels to visit an evergreen island. You will have a chance to visit a floating fish farm and travel along the tiny tributaries where stilt houses are haphazardly leaning against one another. Then you will go ashore and have a tour around the town on a rickshaw (XeLoi). Visit a rattan mat and slipper making factory.

In the afternoon, you cruise downstream all the way to Sadec. Join a lecture on-board with the theme “Vietnam - The Past & Present".Cocktails and briefing at the Saigon Lounge.
The ship arrives in Sadec during dinner and moors midstream for overnight.
After dinner enjoy the Mekong folklore performance in the Saigon Lounge.


Day 7: Sadec – XeoQuyt – Cai Be
In the morning, board a local boat for Sadec passing floating markets as your boat maneuvers through the river’s channels. Once ashore, you will tour Sadec, noteworthy as the town where the French writer Marguerite Duras spent many years during her childhood. Visit a local market and the house of Mr. Huynh Thuy Le, Duras’ Chinese paramour, which is now a small museum. Afterwards, take a 1-hour bus ride from Sadec to XeoQuyt, used as a base during the French and U.S war and now an important ecological site, with its jungle overgrowth.

Meet and re-board the ship in Cai Be.
After lunch onboard, a local boat will take you to CaiBe’s floating market. Go ashore to visit the rice paper and coconut candy workshops. After that, visit atypical old house in the Mekong Delta and take a short walk through the big garden.
Return to the boat and prepare for your Farewell cocktail at 18:00.
Enjoy a gourmet Farewell Dinner at 19:00. Your ship moors midstream in Cai Be.

Day 8: Disembarkation - My Tho - Saigon
Your cruise comes to an end as the ship arrives at My Tho Port.
Breakfast from 6:30 to 8:00, followed by a motor coach transfer to Saigon at 8:30. As the capital of the French colony of Cochichina, Saigon was known as “Paris of Orient”. Today, Vietnam’s largest city is an industrial, cultural and educational hub, but still retains vestiges of its colonial past.
Arrive at Sofitel Plaza Saigon around 10:00.
